What Is Project-Based Learning (PBL)?
Project-Based Learning (PBL) is all about learning by doing. When students roll up their sleeves and get creative when diving into a project, they learn to think critically, problem-solve, and how to work together. Hands-on exploration drives innovation and builds students’ confidence by allowing them to become active participants in their education and shape their own learning rather than just memorizing facts.
Through PBL, students tackle authentic challenges, reflect on their process, and iterate on solutions, preparing them for success in school and beyond. It encourages them to ask big questions and share their discoveries in creative, unexpected ways, transforming the classroom into a playground for curiosity, innovation, and bold ideas.
Students might design a greener and more sustainable city, create an accessible park that is inclusive of their whole community, or reimagine a historical event with a creative twist as an alternative to a traditional essay or test. Guided by curiosity and imagination, PBL lets them research, plan, and tinker as they go, learning to adapt, collaborate, and bring their big ideas to life along the way.
