Practice Communication in Orb Ambush

In this mini-game, each team will try to maintain control of the orb for as long as possible—but be careful, the longer you hold the orb, the slower you move! Teammates will need to communicate about how to evade the other team, when to pass the orb, and where opposing team members are on the map. May the best communicator prevail!

Build Critical Thinking with Grid Wars

Race against the other team to place blocks into a specific pattern. The team that completes the most patterns first within the allotted time wins! But each team member can carry only one block at a time, and the opposing team may disrupt your plans by grabbing blocks before you do. Students will need to think critically to create a strategy that allows them to build faster than their opponents.

Collaboration is Key in Contraption Craft-Off

Your team’s contraption is broken, and you’ll need to work together to fix it! In this game, teams will need to fetch the correct pieces to craft the various parts their machine requires. As soon as they’ve succeeded in crafting a piece, they’ll hand it off to one teammate who will have to place it in the correct part of the contraption.

Get Creative with Knock it Off

What seems at first to be a simple archery competition is in fact a test of observation, experimentation, and creativity. As teams compete to hit the targets, they will need to notice how different targets interact with each other to create combinations that reward even higher point values. Put your creative problem solving skills to the test in this mini-game!

Create Community in Elytra Rumble

Soar high above the Overworld in this flying attack-and-defense game! Students will be glad to use their beloved TNT blocks in a classroom-approved lesson, as each team must try to drop them into the opposing team’s volcano. After five successful TNT drops, your team’s tower will be destroyed! Teams will need to demonstrate their powers of system thinking by coordinating offense and defense in order to take down their opponents’ tower while protecting their own.
