I live in Huntersville, NC a suburb of Charlotte, NC. I have been working for CMS for 10 years. Before moving to work for the district I was using Minecraft in the classroom beginning in 2012 with a Minecraft Club. I have been successful in getting more teachers in my district to start their own Minecraft Clubs. I started integrating Minecraft into the curriculum about 4 years ago. I collaborate with grade level teachers across the district to discover how I can best help them with different subjects. Working together we have created fun and dynamic lessons in Math, English, Social Studies, and many multimedia projects. I love seeing the excitement and passion on students' faces when they are tackling a new project. I listen when they have difficulties and we work together to find solutions. This year with the addition of Computing with Minecraft has reached new heights for me. Coding Clubs are over the moon at being able to combine Minecraft and Coding at the same time. I continue to look for new ways to make education fun and exciting with Minecraft. I have a thing about Creepers, they are unique to Minecraft and universally known. I have one tattooed on my arm. I also love pigs...they're just adorable.
