Survey for students to assess their teamwork

1. Students will recognize the plant
2. Students will demonstrate the principle of compatibility between structure and function in the vascular system on all levels: cell, organ and system.
3. Students will clarify the processes to maintain a proper water balance in the plant.
4. Students will evaluate the work of their peers.
5. Students will improve their critical thinking skills.
6. Students will develop their creativity.

Wonderful Plant world unit is designed to teach Students about:

Plant vascular systems - Xylem and Phloem
Forces that allow matter to circulate: capillary action; adhesion; cohesion; transpiration and concentration gradient.
Effect of forces on the plant's vascular system.
Water balance in plants - Variables that effect transpiration and absorption: Plant morphology; Environmental factors

Students will be working in groups of five.
The task is to build a water transpiration mechanism that operates in different environmental variables: Temperature, Wind, Humidity and soil moisture
Students will add boards to explain about their model.
They will create a portfolio using the camera and export it to OneNote Class Notebook.
The students will present their work to the class and explain their model.
Each team member will evaluate every other team members’ collaboration.

Scoring:

Scientific knowledge: accurate description of the cell parts and their functions – 30%
Presentation: clear and articulate explanations – 30%
Creativity: The use of original materials and structures- 20%
Teamwork: a weighted score of the teacher’s and the team members’ scoring (see the survey link).
