Can students demonstrate their understanding of a time period from a history course or unit with builds in authentic settings?
Can students identify time periods within a history course or unit from others demonstration builds and authentic settings?
Can students communicate effectively why they chose certain aspects of a time period to represent that period?
Students in small groups will select or be assigned a time period from a history course or unit of study.
Students will use other forms of learning supports to research the time period and discuss what can be built to best represent that period.
Students will then build their demonstrations of knowledge about that time period
Students will visit others' demonstration builds and try to determine based on the learning artifacts presented what time period that group selected or were assigned.
Students will then communicate why they chose certain elements to represent their time period.
Students will research their time period from a history course or unit using various forms of learning supports (notes, internet, books etc..)
Students will collaboratively work in small groups and in appropriate settings to bring that time period to life by building representative learning artifacts.
Students will visit other teams' builds and try to determine the time period based on the demonstrated learning artifacts built and the setting
Students will communicate with their teacher why they chose the artifacts they did when demonstrating their understanding of the time period.
