January 19, 2018
Getting started with Code Connection
In this activity its assumed that students have coding and code connection backgrounds.
Its a good idea to start with brainstorming about Japanese culture to find out whether they are familiar to this culture or not. After that let students do some online research about topic.
Here they can find some useful information about Mount Fuji. Also wikipedia page can be used for gathering information. https://www.britannica.com/place/Mount-Fuji
When they are finished let them establish the connection bewteen MEE and Code Connection. When its done guide them to use MakeCode at Code Connection to code the Minecraft Agent.
Students first need to arrange the connection between MEE and Code Connection. After that by using MakeCode they will create Mount Fuji by using just Minecraft Agent. Hence they have coding backgrounds encourage them to use recursive functions for building.
Students can use the camera tool in Minecraft to create a digital portfolio of their work and create Office Mixes that explains details. Also they can use free web site builders to demonstrate their work.
In addition they can export their codes.
