Learning Objectives

  • Students will research world leading golf courses specifically studying their design
  • Students as a class will collaboratively build a 9 or 18 hole Minecraftia Masters 2020 course adding the design features they saw in other leading courses.
  • Students will add challenging elements to each hole while remaining focussed on creating a nauturally beautiful course.
  • Students and teachers will play a competitive round of Ender Pearl Golf on the Minecraftia Masters 2020 course created by the students. Play in pairs for score keeping.

Guiding Ideas

2 example holes have been complete to give teachers or students the general idea of how to successfully pull of the most engaging lesson ever! Students will meet three of golf's best before beginning hole 1.

 

Can students successfully implement elements that work from world leading golf courses into their course?

Can students improve on features from other courses resulting in a superior course?

Can students work together to create a full golf course by the assigned date?

Once completed can students play a round of Ender Pearl golf on their course and subsequently improve it further through testing?

Student Activities

Students research current world leading golf courses

Students Are assigned or select which part of the course they wish to build if they all don't move hole to hole together (Recommended)

Students build a class collaborative golf course

Students play a round in groups or pairs to determine who is the ultimate Ender Pearl Golf champion on the Minecraftia Masters 2020 course. They then improve the course after this competitive testing. (optional)

Performance Expectations

Students will be able to talk about successful features in world leading golf courses

Students will be able to indicate which features were borrowed from other course designs and which were expanding on features they had seen. Also which were 100% original.

Students will complete the course by the deadline for the Masters.

Students will play a competitive round (With teachers?)

Students will suggest or complete further improvements.
