  • Students will define extinction. Students will recognize the difference between old extinction factors and recent extinction factors.
  • Students will able to classify a group of animals into extincted and endangered species.
  • Students will recognize the effects of disappearance of species on the ecosystem.

Student Activities

Students will work in groups

1- Group 1: research extinct species and endangered species in Egypt.

2- Group 2:  Using Minecraft to design a world suffering from destroying of habitats as cutting trees.

3- Group 3: organize a Skype session(s) to exchange information about extinction with colleagues from different country(ies).

4- Group 4 : Use this world to show how to keep the ecosystem in balance.

 

 

Performance Expectations

It's expected that :

1- Students will conclude the difference between old extinction factors and recent extinction factors.

2- Students will realize that recent factors are related mostly to human activity.

3- Students will create solutions to preserve the ecosystem and keep its balance.
