Learning Objectives

  • Identify that most energy conversions are inefficient and lead to the production of heat energy, e.g. in light bulbs (PW4a) • Energy efficiency • renewable and non-renewable energy • reducing energy consumption • energy rating labels

Guiding Ideas

How can we make houses more energy efficient?

Student Activities

Using the information you gather from your textbook and online research, you and your group are to design an energy efficient house within an online suburb. You will present your design to the class on FRIDAY 14th June by allowing them into your online house.

Requirements:

1. Your house must have at least five energy efficient features clearly labelled with signs and explained.

2. You must take screenshots during your building process to justify your work.

3. Every person must speak during a virtual tour with the class.

4. The tour must be no longer than 5 minutes.

5. Each group member must provide evidence (screenshots) that they have worked on a section of the house.
