Magister Craft Domus Romani video
Magister Craft has created a video of the various rooms in a Roman house. This is done in Latin and serves as a model for the students.
Build a Domus Romani in Minecraft
This is a step-by-step instructional video to show students how to build a standard domus Romani in Minecraft.
What are the main rooms of a Roman house?
How are these rooms typically used by the Roman family?
How can you use Minecraft to recreate a house similar to those in ancient Rome?
Students will watch a video from Magister Craft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evJ7J1eqH2Y&feature=youtu.be as a model for the end product.
As they watch the video, they will note the rooms mentioned in the video and they way Magister Craft describes the rooms.
Then, students will watch this video, showing a step-by-step tutorial on building a Roman house and can use this video as a guide when building their own Roman house. https://youtu.be/Zk3z06f_a0s
Students who are experienced in Minecraft should use their skills to build a more elaborate house and should be prepared to help students who have never used Minecraft before.
Once the houses are built and decorated, students will "walk" through their homes and note the rooms as they appear. Using this as a guide, students will write sentence in Latin telling which room they are in and how a Roman family would have used the room.
Once the sentences are complete, students will use screen-cast-o-matic to create a narrated video tour of the house. The narration should be in Latin and should model the video made by Magister Craft.
