A Minecraft world to use as a catalyst for the Challenge

### Learning Objectives

• To understand the features of 4 geometric shapes and how to construct them
• To write an algorithm using Microsoft Code Builder and debug
• Adjust the dimensions of shapes by changing variables within an algorithm

### Guiding Ideas

In this Challenge learners must code Agent to build four different 3D geometric shapes in specific locations within the Amazing Code world. The learners will need to write four different algorithms and test them to evaluate outcomes.

Introductory Questions:

• What are the features of a cube, cuboid, triangular prism and pyramid?
• How can you develop an algorithm to instruct Agent to build these shapes?
• How will you approach debugging if your code does not work as expected?
• What variables would you need to change to adjust the dimensions of you shape?

### Student Activities

The Challenge is made up of  three distinct steps that will take approx. 2+ hrs.

Step One:

• Discuss the properties of 3D shapes – cube, cuboid, triangular prism, and pyramid

Step Two:

• Open the Amazing Code world and create a plan to construct each of the geometric shapes

Step Three:

• Learners write their code using Microsoft Code Builder within Minecraft: Education Edition to instruct Agent to build the shapes, test, debug and change dimensions by adjusting variables
