Information and Instructions
Document outlining a summary of the lesson, instructions for teachers, students and a 'how to play' guide.
Copy of the Minecraft map. You will need to unzip this to run the map in Minecraft: Education Edition.
In this lesson students will be learning about geography. Specifically the landmarks of Australia. They will be educated by facts spread across the Minecraft World in a fun and engaging way. There is a science component in the Horizontal Falls section.
Before starting the lesson make sure students (and yourself) know how to play Minecraft, you will find the instructions below. In case the players forget there are some help areas in the map, but it would be advised that you print out the instructions for each player to use.

Brief Summary of the Lesson:
There will be 9 locations spread across Australia which students can access by right-clicking a button which will teleport them to the location which we built in the Minecraft World. Students can have fun with the activities on each location while making sure they learn facts. In the students’ inventory they will get a Book & Quill which is basically a book you can write in to take notes on for a quiz at the end.
This map was created with the intention that it is self guided. The creators suggested use of the map was as an optional task to reinforce lessons/ideas that may have been gone through in class concerning Australian landmarks.
