    Learning objectives

Know the three basic logic gate operators

Work out the output of given inputs using a truth table

    Instructions:
    1. Show the attached PowerPoint presentation to the students.
    2. If necessary, demonstrate how to place blocks and controls in Minecraft.
    3. Explain to students that they need to copy each of the logic gates (silver zones) using the space provided (gold build zones).
    4. Hand out the student worksheet (attached) and ask students to complete all the challenges.
Extension: If time allows, students can use the build area to create their own logic circuits. Students can replace the redstone lamp with other redstone powered objects such as doors, pistons or even TNT!

Students to complete the worksheet (attached) and re-create each of the main Boolean logic gates in Minecraft. If time allows, students can use the build area to create their own logic circuits. Students can replace the redstone lamp with other redstone powered objects such as doors, pistons or even TNT!

Evidence of learning: Students will complete the supplied challenge sheet by copying each of the logic gates (silver zones) in the spaces provided (gold build zones) and completing the truth tables. Screenshots and in game pictures can also be included to support the students findings. Extension: Have students plan out their own logic circuits on paper before building in Minecraft.
