As another #BlockToSchool moment transitions into the regular rhythms of school, we wish educators, students, and families everywhere a joyful academic year full of learning and growth! Whatever you’re tackling this year, Minecraft Education is there to help.

Here’s a recap of resources we’ve shared this month that can help you make it a great school year with Minecraft – along with something new and extra fun to use in your classroom!

Classroom and Curriculum Resources

Whatever your level of experience with Minecraft Education, there’s always more to learn! In our updated Learn to Play series, you can explore the basics or dive into more advanced topics.

One of the most powerful aspects of Minecraft Education is the Lesson Library – a collection of ready-made Minecraft lessons to teach subjects across the curriculum and students of all ages and searchable by subject, age, keyword, or language. With hundreds of lessons accompanied by supporting materials like lesson plans and classroom presentations, the Lesson Library is a go-to resource for educators looking to make Minecraft a part of their curriculum.

And if the Lesson Library doesn’t have exactly what you’re looking for, you can use the Minecraft Education Lesson Crafter – an AI-powered lesson design tool – to generate ideas for lessons tailored to your specific classroom and curriculum.

Family Resources

Whether you’re familiar with Minecraft or learning about it for the first time, we’re here to help you understand what it is, why students and teachers love it, and how it supports learning in classrooms.

Minecraft may be one of the most popular video games in the world, but Minecraft Education is a special version designed specifically for teachers and students. In addition to ready-made lessons and worlds that help teach everything from history to AI literacy, Minecraft Education also provides classes a safe and secure environment for collaboration, creativity, and exploration.

Community Resources

Minecraft Education isn’t just a tool – it’s also a community. And the heart of the Minecraft Education community is the Minecraft Education Teachers’ Lounge, a network of over 12,000 educators and Minecraft ambassadors from around the world, eager to share ideas, give feedback, solve problems, and celebrate each others’ success.

In addition to engaging with other educators and Minecraft users, the Teachers’ Lounge is also a place where you can engage with the Minecraft Education team directly to discuss a technical issue, share ideas for new content or events, and help make Minecraft Education better for everyone. For more information about the Teachers’ Lounge, check out our full blog here.

A #BlockToSchool Surprise!

To bring some joy and friendly competition to classrooms for the end of this #BlockToSchool we’ve created The Wheel of Steve – a free, downloadable Minecraft Education trivia game! Designed for middle school and high school classrooms, this ready-made PowerPoint-based trivia game tests students’ knowledge while also providing opportunities to share about themselves.
