We are over the moon to bring you the Chase the Clouds Update (version 1.21.91) for Minecraft Education, which includes exciting improvements to OneDrive cloud storage, multiplayer, and Code Builder. We have also added new features from the past three Minecraft Bedrock updates (up to version 1.21.90) such as Bundles, the Pale Garden biome, and the reorganized Creative Inventory. And if you haven’t experienced the pure delight of the Happy Ghast, just wait! Or ask your students to show you.
Learn how to update your version of Minecraft Education here. Meanwhile, here's a look at what’s new in Chase the Clouds:
MakeCode & Code Builder IDE: Coding has never been more dynamic! The latest changes add new file read/write superpowers with MakeCode, and gently wave a bittersweet goodbye to Tynker as a supported IDE. Heads-up to Python pros—Python Notebooks will be leaving soon, but not before January 2026, so there’s still plenty of time to move all your Python projects to MakeCode.
World Creation: Who doesn’t love a good makeover? The Create and Edit World interface now makes it a breeze to start new adventures and tweak world settings. Educator options are clearly separated, and you’ll find seven new flat world presets ready for your creative touch.
Cloud Storage, Multiplayer & Coding: Invite friends, code together, and collaborate with a smile—multiplayer sign-in and connection processes are now more reliable than ever, and coding infrastructure has been upgraded for greater stability and performance. Building massive masterpieces? Now you can save bigger worlds to the cloud! Uploads and downloads are speedier, with fewer hiccups and smoother skies all around.
