Primary school teacher at Lindfield Learning Village, Sydney, Australia. Avid gamer, but (relatively) new to Minecraft. I know the basics and have seen some awesome work submitted by students via the game. Up until now I've mainly used Minecraft as an additional way for students to present information to the class. For example, we wanted to re-design the classroom to fit the needs of that particular cohort of students. Students used P.E in groups, to share some very interesting ideas. The best part was that we were able to be taken on a virtual tour of their creations and each design element was explained in the process. My favourite mob has to be the piggies. They are so cute, yet alas, I also enjoy their bacon! As a 2018 Minecraft Education Edition Mentor, I am looking forward to learning more about the game and also very excited about seeing how it can be used to further my gamification of the classroom this year. I try to transform my class into a fictional world using tools such as "Classcraft" and I'd like to explore opportunities to extend this into the virtual realm. There really isn't any one most rewarding activity, it's always one big journey every year, but if I had to choose one, it'd be the mock Wikipedia page we created for our yearbook based on the fictional world our class lived in that year. Or maybe the short film "iChild". Or the classroom design. Can't choose! Best way to contact me is email :)
