Deploying Minecraft through the Microsoft Store for Education

Licenses for Minecraft: Education Edition are deployed through the Microsoft Store for Education.

SUPPORT: The Microsoft Store for Education has a set of support materials and agents for both commerce and technical support. Head to the “Support” page in the Store. If you are having trouble with purchasing, you can chat live with a support agent or open a ticket by opening the “Purchase, Billing, and Promotions” header (see right). If you require technical support, use this link to open a ticket with the Microsoft Store for Education technical support team.

DOCUMENTATION: For complete guidance to assign and manage Minecraft: Education Edition licenses through the Microsoft Store for Education, please reference this article for end-to-end documentation on assignment and management of licenses. Note that you can assign licenses to individual users but you can also assign to groups you’ve set up in Office 365 Education, for example a grade level or a specific school. Our deployment guide is also a great resource to check out.

BULK ASSIGNMENT: The Microsoft Store for Education also supports bulk assignment of licenses using a PowerShell module. For documentation on this process, please head here for detailed instructions to install and manage large license distribution efficiently.

VIDEO WALK-THROUGH: For more information, you can also use the following videos on deploying licenses as either an administrator or an educator, available also at the Minecraft: Education Edition YouTube channel.
