Feature Requests

Do you like ComputerCraft mode? This mode is missing in Minecraft Education Edition. I would like if something like this will be available in the future. This mode is perfect for learning algorithmic thinking. What do you think? Do you agree with me?

I would love to see ComputerCraft or something similar. I teach game design and development, so the features that support automation and programming in game are of greatest interest to me. Steve

Yes, Minecraft provides the perfect GUI to incorporate the aspects of coding into a dynamic visual representation! I image that this feature should be appreciated by teachers and students alike! #CSforAll

As yet, ComputerCraft and its components, including turtles, are not available in Minecraft: Education Edition. I'd love to raise a stink about this, because ComputerCraftEdu's easy-mode turtles are GREAT for teaching elementary and middle-school students about programming without having them get hung up on syntax and grammar early on... plus it lets them transition their programs into more detailed variants easily. If there's a way for me to help push the importance of this mod and its features in front of the decision makers at Microsoft, let me know.

It could really bridge the gap between entry level coding, and redstone specialist

I would agree that this is an essential mod for Minecraft: EE. It allows them to explore coding in a closed environment... an environment that they already know. They can identify problems and create their own objectives and attempt to have turtles solve their issues through trial and error............................................................................................................................................................... One of the coolest things I saw was a guy on youtube going through a challenge where he was not allowed to break or set any blocks himself and could only interact with the environment through a turtle. This can easily be done with middle school children and the ComputerCraftEdu easy-mode turtles.

Finally They heard us and Code Builder arrived! Thanks for your interest. Microsoft always make teachers feel that they care about us, our thoughts. And they are very quick :)
